Rules
Eligibility
Any professional or semi-professional photographer may enter. One account per person. Images must have been created by the entrant.
Image requirements
JPEG, PNG or WebP. Maximum 20 MB. Minimum 1500px on the long side. Taken within the last 2 years from the submission date.
Retouching
Classical retouching is permitted: colour grading, contrast, sharpening, cloning for minor distractions, cropping, exposure and light adjustments. Not permitted: heavy compositing, replacing sky or major elements, AI-generated or AI-altered content forming the subject.
Submission
Maximum 5 images per photographer per session across both universes. 1 credit consumed per submitted image. Credits are non-transferable.
Scoring
Each image is evaluated anonymously by a minimum of 3 independent jurors on two axes: Impact (0–100) and Intention (0–100). Final score = average of (Impact + Intention) / 2 across all assigned jurors.
Trophy thresholds
KMFT Award: 90–100 · KMFT Distinction: 80–89 · KMFT Selection: 70–79 · Not retained: below 70. Thresholds are public and fixed for the season.
Per-photographer caps
Per session and per universe: maximum 1 KMFT Award, maximum 2 KMFT Distinctions, maximum 3 rewarded images in total. If a photographer exceeds a cap, their highest-scoring images are kept within the allowed limits.
Bonus credits
KMFT Award: +2 bonus credits · KMFT Distinction: +1 · Every 2 KMFT Selections: +1. Capped at 3 bonus credits per season. Bonus credits are carried to the next season only — never usable in the season they are earned. Images previously awarded elsewhere earn no bonus credits.
No appeals
Jury decisions are final. Scores are locked upon publication and cannot be challenged. Admin corrections are possible only in cases of proven technical error, with a full audit trail.
Trust & Transparency
Trust & Transparency
Everything you need to know about how Kissmefortytimes works — and why it works that way.
Full anonymity
Jurors never see the photographer's name, handle, country, or any identifying information. Photographers never see who judged their images. The work is evaluated on its own terms.
No pay-to-win
One subscription. 20 credits. That's it. There is no way to buy more credits, boost visibility, fast-track jury review, or purchase any competitive advantage. The playing field is flat by design.
How scoring works
Every image is scored by a minimum of 3 independent jurors on two axes: Impact (0–100) and Intention (0–100). The final score is the average of (Impact + Intention) / 2 across all assigned jurors. No single juror decides the outcome.
Published thresholds
KMFT Award: 90–100 · KMFT Distinction: 80–89 · KMFT Selection: 70–79 · Not retained: below 70. Thresholds are set before the season opens and cannot be changed mid-season.
Per-photographer caps
Maximum 1 Award, 2 Distinctions, 3 rewarded images per session per universe. If a photographer would exceed a cap, their highest-scoring images are kept within limits. No photographer can sweep a category.
Immutable results
Results are locked at publication. Every credit consumed, score submitted, and result published is recorded in an audit trail. Admin corrections are possible only in cases of proven technical error, with a full public record.
Conflict of interest
Jurors can declare a conflict of interest at any time. The image is immediately reassigned to another juror. A juror who has worked with a photographer in the past 12 months should not evaluate their work.
